I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at ALDI (Palm Bay, FL) in May 2010
Interview
I interviewed for a cashier position in hopes that I would be able to advance quickly into management. The interviewer, in this case, the district manager, was friendly and polite. However, the interview quickly went from casual to basically interrogation. I was told that the background check was very thorough and would turn up any lies or falsifications. I was certainly okay with this and assured the DM that I was being very honest.
As the interview progressed and the interrogation seemed to stop, we began talking about general personality questions, such as "how do you define leadership" and "how would you delegate an undesirable task to a co-worker?"
Next step in the hiring process was background and drug testing (urine and/or hair follicle), followed by a meeting with a regional manager.

In thinking back, what is the value of something you might have taken without intending to? ...This might include something as small as a pen or pencil.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at ALDI in Feb 2010
Interview
I submitted an application through one of their career fairs and met 2 managers who gave a preliminary interview. Two days later I was called back and took a timed skills test in front of 3 managers followed by a personality test. The staff seemed cold and were very turned off by the fact that I was going to college and needed some certain times off so I didn't expect to get the job. They sent me for a drug test and called me the next day to offer the job. I turned them down because of how cold everyone seemed to be. IU didn;t want a job that would make me miserable
