      Software Quality Engineer Interview

      Apr 30, 2009
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Adobe in Mar 2008

      Interview

Initial Communications:- Recruiter contacted me for an interview and to set up interview dates with the company. Phone Interviews:- Phone Screen: 2 Recruiter interviews to assess past experiences and suitablitiy to work for Adobe. Phone Interview: Detailed interview with the Hiring Manager to discuss past experiences and roles and responsiblities for the position. Some technical questions based on past experience. Phone Interview: Technical Interview with Senior Engineer - questions varied in difficulty and really focused on behaviorial, hypothetical situations and how you would handle this, plus some very detailed code level questions. Onsite Interviews:- Hiring Manager: In person Interview in which we discussed the existing systems, my past experiences, how I would fit in with the team. Team interviews: Introduced to each of 4 members of the team and had 45 minutes with each person. These interviews basically covered what each person was doing and their responsibilities. Discussed whether they enjoyed working for Adobe, working in this team, working for the existing Manager. Some technical questions again, based around past experiences and the companies I had worked with. Overall, a very challenging interview experience. In hind sight, the questions were very fair and really tailored to understand how you would manage your responsibilities and how you would get on with the existing team. Each member was highly skilled and very knowledgeable about the infrastructure, the applicatications and software being used and tested. I was really motivated by the thought of working with this team and for this company. The offices were very comfortable, standard cubical sized rooms for each person. The team really went out of their way to make you feel very comfortable and part of the team.
