I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Amazon (Ben) in Aug 2021
Interview
There are 4 round of interview , 2 technical 2 behavioral.
In the Technical interview, 1 will be OS related and 1 will be based on OS Networking.
In the behavioral round most focus will be leadership principle and communication skills.
Interview comprised of 5 rounds,
First one was online assessment,
2nd is Networking, 3rd OS and 4th 5th are Leadership principle rounds.
First and Foremost they Find these small 1-2 year experienced engineers to interview you and gauge you on what they know, in this round they have mugged on Wireshark packet capture and packet level questions , tcpdump and stuff like that which was not even a percent relevant to your job profile at a start level neither you have done it before, where you recruiter will give you questionnaire to read about OSI where these new engineers of AWS will showcase their talent and wont even bother to ask any of these , whatever they know they want you also to know, why the hell are we even joining a new company for doing the same thing.
I have literally said interviewer that this havent been told to me because this altogether a new thing which i have not done before and neither recruiter told me to go through, its a freakin worst experience i have ever had after working as a Network engineer in Cisco.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Wireshark/tcpdump/Firewall/Loadbalancer
Packet level questions
Anything and everything will be from their knowledge,
You will be gauged on what they know
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Sydney) in Aug 2021
Interview
Screening interview was technical followed by 4 interviews with a mix of scenario/technical questions. The question/answer methodology seems proprietary to Amazon so it seems those who read ahead and prepare will be greatly advantaged.
Weirdly enough I found the situational questions really difficult, but I was not accepted due to technical knowledge gaps. And I thought the technical questions were easy.
