I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Amazon (Tokio) in May 2013
Interview
It was tough and took very long process to complete. Technical exam and technical interview, and behavior interviews. It was six or seven interviews as total. And technical interview required very detailed and basic knowledge of information science. It was basic but difficult.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Amazon (Sydney)
Interview
I had applied for another role, but I was offered an interview for CSE.
The whole recruiting process is very slow. I never heard the voice of my recruiters, just saw emails that looked like templates. They didn't talk about the role or any other company details over the phone, there was no personal touch.
Since the first phone interview you start telling potential future colleagues about yourself. You get the chance to make a few questions in the end of each interview session.
All interviewers were nice and friendly.
During the recruiting process my first recruiter was replaced, but that didn't stop the person to send me a few more emails from outside Amazon email domain. Very suspicious, with very poor grammar, not the usual previous templates.
The technical questions were related to the job description, which was fair.
The behavioral questions were about giving examples from actions you took in your career that are related to the Leadership Principles.
Interviewers were simultaneously typing all my answers most of time. Too much noise and lack of eye contact.
Very long and exhausting one-on-one interviews (4+ hours straight, 4 to 5 different people, no breaks).
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Dublin, Dublin) in Nov 2016
Interview
The process consists:
1. Telephone Interview (Technical) 30Min
2. Telephone Interview (Competency/Technical Based) 1.5hours
3. Telephone Interview ( Competency/Technical Based) 1 hours (Subjective )
4. In-house Interviews (Competency Based) 5/6 hours
I recommend you study a lot, keep your tips opened during the interview and be prepared to answer how to troubleshoot technical issues and the systems work. Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, FTP, Protocols TCP/IP and UDP, NAT, Firewall and Gateway, Ports, etc.
