I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Herndon, VA) in Feb 2016
Interview
The interview lasted for 2 weeks. I applied through amazon.com and the HR called me few days later to set me up for phone interview. The phone interview lasted for one hour. The interviewer was very pleasant and patient. After the phone interview, I was called for face to face interview at Herndon.
This interview is the longest and the most interesting interview ever attended. It all lasted 5 hours with four different interviewer. Each of them tested me in different areas. because I am linux SA, so I was heavily tested on linux and networking.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
because of non disclosure agreement, I won't be able to say the question but just make sure you focus on neworking (as they will go deep om this), DNS, TCP/IP, FiREWALL, LOAD BALANCER etc. And most importantly please, please and please read and understand amazon leadership principle. If you really wanna work at amazon, you will need not only to understand the principles but been able to relate to it and come up with a scenario when you applied the principle.
Don't waste your time focusing on aws cloud, more than likely they won't ask you anything on it because they will train you on that. again, focus on Linux, networking, and the priciples
