I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Singapore) in Nov 2014
Interview
I applied online.
Then they arranged a phone interview.
I think I did alright because I got an email to meet up face to face.
They gave me a plane ticket.
Face-to-face interview was with 2 different people and then I had a video call with 3 other interviewers.
After a few days, they asked for some documents for a background check.
After a month, they gave me an offer.
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Amazon in Nov 2014
Interview
Had to have 2 phone screenings. One with an Engineer and other with a manager. First was for 60 minutes and second for 30 minutes.
Onsite was 5 back to back interviews with no breaks. You could visit the toilet if you need though.
Phone screenings were 100% technical. Onsite were mainly behavioral. Many many questions about 'what would you (or did you) do in this situation'. Your answers should be based on the leadership principals and you will do more than fine.
Technical questions were about things in the job description. Nothing was outside of that. However, you should expect to get asked detailed questions. For example, how does DHCP work? answer to this is not a client requesting an IP and a server responding with one. Answer should be detailed on what ports are used, when it is a broadcast request, etc.
Everyone involved in the interview, literally, everyone was very professional and friendly. Some questions were challenging which can make you nervous but remember, the interviewer is just trying to get the best out of you.

Question 1
Nothing, everything was for the job description and leadership principals.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Dublin, Dublin) in Oct 2014
Interview
Contacted by a in house recruiter for Cloud support Engineer role. Started with two phone interviews, 1 hour each, one with a Support Engineer and one with a Network Engineer.
First Engineer mainly asked questions about Linux tools, filesystem, kernel and system administration/troubleshooting, while during the second I have been asked network related questions about TCP/IP stack, HTTP, routing and troubleshooting.
After second interview I was invited for an on-site interview in Dublin: 5 interviews (1 hour each) with 5 five different people, 3 technical/role based and 2 based on past experiences and team/culture fit.
All communication was done by email and both recruiter and interviewers were very helpful.
Large companies like Amazon also want to test the limits of your knowledge and your thought process so keep calm and take your time before giving an answer.
Two days after on-site, recruiter called me with an offer.

Question 1
Nothing unexpected: typical Linux and Network administration and troubleshooting questions. If you are invited on-site be sure you also review their leadership principles and be prepared to discuss them with some strong examples for each.
