I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Seattle, WA) in Jan 2008
Interview
Hiring process was painless, it took a while to hear back from the recruiters at times, but they seem to be quite busy with lots of hirings going on so its understandable. I would recommend contacting the recruiters if you dont hear from them in a week.
Company : seems like a fun place to work at, with very smart engineers.
Interview preparation : CS fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, some SQL (if you have it on your resume), basic unix commands, OO fundamentals and design
