      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Amazon (Dublin, Dublin) in Aug 2024

      Interview

Had gotten chance for my application to be fast tracked after attending 2024 Spring Technology Insights and doing a hackathon for students. Gotten a oa, got interview date for the 15/08 and then got offer on the 19/08 My interview went good and was actually fun. It was mostly behavioural and competency based questions. My interviewer asked what SQL was , what are the different type of joints and when do you use SQL and NOSQL databases. (got asked about SQL because it was mentioned in my skill section on my cv. Make sure your skills are actually your skills so your not surpised when they ask about it. also make sure u know the in depth about ur projects as they might ask about ur projects) We then moved onto the live coding. Got asked "write a function that takes two string and and return the index of the first of one string" and "Write program to find sum of all even number of 1-100 " but then i had to improve the performance of the program. Ended it with behavioural qs.

      Interview

Standard LC mediums, nothing too crazy. Interviewer was pretty chill and was helpful in pointing me in the right direction when I needed as well. Only thing I would probably change was to study more on graph problems before hand.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

You are given an 0-indexed integer array weights, where weights[i] represents the weight of the i-th marble, and an integer k. Your task is to divide the marbles into k bags such that: No bag is empty. Each bag must contain marbles from a contiguous range of indices. That is, if a bag includes marbles at indices i and j, then all marbles with indices between i and j (inclusive) must also be included in that same bag. The cost of a bag that includes marbles from index i to j (inclusive) is defined as weights[i] + weights[j]. The total score of a distribution is the sum of the costs of all k bags. Return the difference between the maximum and minimum possible scores among all valid distributions.
