I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Seattle, WA) in Apr 2022
Interview
Classic leadership principle oriented interview. Had a series of 6 interviewers and 2 questions each. They all were typing so I was actually more comfortable not having the full focus. I focussed on using the STAR answering technique, which helped.
Kept asking about the data about 5 times. Didn't really listen to what I was saying but kept just asking "tell me more, tell me more."
It felt like they weren’t actually engaging with my answers, just repeating the same prompt.
There was no real follow-up or connection to what I had just shared.
I ended up repeating myself because they weren’t processing or acknowledging anything I said.
There was initial screening followed by a loop with hiring managers focused on the leadership principles. The main focus was to learn about candidates prior experience. STAR method to answer questions is important.
