I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Analog Devices (Dublin, Dublin) in Mar 2023
Interview
Wasted my time, money, and energy. Recruiter reached out to me and ask for an interview. I already told them that I am looking for a remote or hybrid in my current location. They said it's fine you just have to go to the other city for interview and initial induction and then you can work remotely. First Round: (Over Video Call) Technical Discussion with Principal Engineer. Normal technical questions related to day-to-day work, tools, and technology. Second Rounds: (In-Person) I was asked to go to the office which is in another city. I took the whole day off and commuted to that city at my own expense. This definitely could have been done over the video call. 1 Round - 2 Leet code Easy problems and then some technical questions. 2 Round - System Design your own past project. 3 Round - Talk over Lunch Third Round: (Over Video Call) Talk with the Director. The first question he asked me was if I will move to the city once I get the offer. So far during the whole process, it was never mentioned that I have to move to the other city. Only once in a while for team meetings. So I straight off said, "No I will not move". The look on his face told me that he didn't like it. From there on the whole interview went sideways. I didn't enjoy the conversation with this guy. He looks like someone who would create a lot of pressure on someone to get things done. Also when I ask him what's your future vision for this team, his answer was nonsense. Didn't expect that kind of an answer from a Director. I knew I would not get an offer after this. But why waste someone's time when you know you cannot offer remote. Also, they didn't even send me any rejection email.
