I was contacted by a third party recruiter who had good contacts within Avanade. He sent through my CV and I was contacted for a screening interview a few days leter. That interview was fairly basic, as all screening interviews are.
After that I had two more interviews, both over the phone as I was abroad at the time. The first one of those was with a prospective peer and was very odd. The direction of the interview was more or less decided by me, asking questions of the interviewer. He didn't really ask me any questions, rather the other way round. I think there were a few fairly easy technical questions in there.
The third interview was more detailed and was with a more senior guy. The questions were not terribly technical , but rather scenario-based. I assume this is to get a feel for the candidate's experience at the coal face.
I was told that all interviews had gone well and to expect an offer at some point. After a lot of waiting and requests for updates, they finally said that they wanted to hire me but couldn't due to "budget constraints".
