After two rounds of interview, the recruiter told me that my application is on hold because they would like to proceed with two other candidates. I did thank the recruiter and mentioned if that is the case, I will not proceed with my application anymore. A few days later, the recruiter said there was a mistake, the email was for another candidate, there was a miscommunication. I told the recruiter, you are just reaching out to me again because the application of the two other applicants went not so well. This is very unprofessional, place yourselves in the applicant's shoes. Applicants put in time and effort then, tell them to wait/ your application is on hold! Good candidates are lost because of this miscommunication of sorts.
