I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Backbase (Cardiff, Wales) in Oct 2019
Interview
I was applying for a role in the Cardiff office, though I was to be the first mobile dev there so interacted a lot with the mobile devs in Amsterdam for the interview process.
There was an initial call with the internal recruiter in Cardiff to discuss the role and company a bit, as well as my experience to ensure there appeared a good fit between the company and me.
Next came a Google Hangouts chat with a technical employee in Amsterdam to further discuss my experience in more detail and give some more insight into the company.
This was followed by a technical test to be done in my own time. It was a fairly standard interview take-home test, a simple application to load and display some data and let the user interact with it in a simple manner.
My test was reviewed by the technical employee in Amsterdam and then there was another Google Hangouts chat with this guy as well as the product owner to give feedback on the test and talk a bit more about the role.
As they were happy with me on a technical level the final stage of the process was a face-to-face 'culture-fit' interview in the Cardiff office with some of the technical guys there.
