Interview
I applied online and a test appeared in my screen that lasted an hour. Since I completed successfully the test, a recruiter got in touch with me by saying that he wants to schedule a phone interview. We arranged the time and the day and he called me. The phone interview lasted 30 minutes and due to the fact that he was satisfied from what he heard he invited me for a group assessment at Booking.com's office here in the Netherlands. He also mentioned that I had to be really good prepared and that the whole process at the office will last 4-5 hours. It lasted less than 4 hours and it was composed of 4 stages: stage 1 was a skills test both in english and in the language that I applied, since I applied as a Russian speaker. We also got a company presentation (that was stage 2) before and after the skills tests from the recruiter who hardly knew his job because he wasn't able to answer in any of our questions. Onwards two team leaders came for each of us and guided us to a room full of computers, that was the working environment. This is when stage 3 started. One of the team leaders stayed with me and the other went to another computed. He called me pretending that he was a frustrated client so they see how fast was I able to solve a customer's problem and if I fit for this job. After that we passed to stage 4 which was a personal interview with the 2 team leaders which went really good. Probably it was one of the most relaxed interview I ever had. When we finished they told that if everything went ok then I will get a call from a Russian speaking employee who already works in Booking.com so that they also check my verbal qualities. I did receive the call first thing in the next day and the conversation lasted about about 15-20 minutes. The funny thing is that after all that stages I never received any feedback. I spent almost 10 hours in total for all the interviews and nobody contacted me although they had to 3-4 days after all that processes. It is really disappointing for a company like booking.com, not to provide any feedback especially when all the stages were completed successfully and they took so much of your personal time. I always wanted to work for them but since now there is no desire at all.

Interview
Disrespectful interview process. After passing the language test online, I was invited to an interview. When the time for the interview came, the first thing that the recruiter told me was that the position had already been filled and they wouldn't be conducting an interview, but they would take my details down for future opportunities. I had spent a great deal of time preparing for the interview and it wouldn't have been difficult for them to send an email or voicemail to let me know in advance that the position had already been filled. I found it extremely disrespectful. There is no need to be so blasé about how you treat people. I don't think they stopped for one minute to think about the time investment I had made for that interview. If that is how they treat interviewees then I would be very wary of how they treat their employees.

Question 1
What experience I have, where I live etc - they told me it wasn't a real interview since they had already hired who they wanted.
the interview process starts with a phone interview that lasts about 30 mins, informal to get to know you but make sure to make an impression, do your research on the company. then an in person panel interview + tour of the facility. they will also give you an assignment which you have to pass, and depending on what language you speak, an assignment to make sure you're fluent as well. whole process took a pretty long time, about a month.
