I applied online. I interviewed at Cell Press (Cambridge, MA) in Jun 2018
Interview
The first stage is a set of editing exercises via email. They gave me about a week to work on it. Ranging from critiquing published papers, editing manuscripts and commissioning reviews. Then I had an hour long phone interview with typical questions. A week later I was invited for an in-house interview that lasted most of the day. The in-house interview also included a manuscript test, and another one-hour long panel-interview
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
Lots of Typical behavioral interview questions (strengths; describe a situation where you had to deal with conflict, etc. etc.)
