      Product Manager Interview

      May 15, 2021
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Londen, Engeland
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I interviewed at Checkout.com (Londen, Engeland)

      Interview

One of the HR/People team got in touch and we had a half hour call to discuss the role. This was followed up by an hour interview with a Senior PM. All very straightforward. Then nothing. <tumbleweeds> If I'm not the right person for the role then thats fine - but at least show someone who has invested time and effort into researching the company and giving up time for an interview the decency of a response. A standard email response with my name added to it would have been fine and would have taken you seconds and provided me with closure.

Hi there, Thank you for your interest in joining us at Checkout.com, and the time spent leaving us a review on your interview experience. We never want our candidates to experience “tumbleweed” moments, so we apologize that it looks like that has happened here. It must have been even more frustrating considering you had a second call with one of our Senior PMs. We’ve circulated your comments with the right members of the team to make sure they are actioned, and if feedback would still be useful to you, please reach out directly at people.acquisition@checkout.com and we will get back to you. Thanks, The People Team

      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Checkout.com (Londen, Engeland) in Apr 2025

      Interview

1 X Talent Phone Call 1 X Line Manager Interview 3 X Onsite Interview with stakeholders in London Office Then nothing, for two weeks (1 holding email with no timeline). Basic templated email thanking me for my interest and stating that I was not progressing any further - the type of email you would get at a first stage of the process, not at the final stage. No acknowledgement of attending the interview in London, and no feedback (or offer of feedback)/reason. Email sent late in the day and before a bank holiday weekend. After emailing them, a vague offer of "oh you wanted feedback". Not professional at all.

      Product Manager Interview

      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Checkout.com (Londen, Engeland) in Oct 2024

      Interview

The process is ridiculously long: - 1 Interview with HR - 1 Interview with Responsible for the department - 1 (face-2-face) Interview just for Product Strategy - 1 interview just for Product execution - 1 (face-2-face) interview just for Leadership - 1 interview just for Engineering Is just an exaggerate amount of time and interviews. I honestly think this process is exhausting and too much. After weeks on this and not getting a job, is very frustrating.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Q1: If Tesla wants to deploy a driverless taxi service in a country, how would they do it? Q2: Please tell me how you'd create a product that is a transportation app for families. Q3: How do you measure success for AirBnB? Each question in different interview.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Checkout.com (Londen, Engeland)

      Interview

Interview with HR then a second round of scenario based questions. Scenario seemed very random and they are clearly trying to follow the Facebook interview process but was very one sided. i.e. no real interaction from the interviewer which made the whole thing very difficult.
