I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Environmental Protection Agency
Interview
Friendly, comprehensive regarding my application and resume. They actually gave me some pointers too regarding a better resume! Everyone I spoke to was incredibly friendly regarding the process, and you could tell that they really wanted to give a position to everyone that was interested in it. It's more of a graduate than undergraduate internship though, and they don't necessarily have an infrastructure in place for the undergraduate interns yet so it's more informal than formal.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Environmental Protection Agency (Edison, NJ) in May 2020
Interview
The person that interviewed me was very candid and it made me feel comfortable answering questions. However, they were also candid about their dislike for their current job and the bureaucratic nature of the EPA. They misread my resume and thought that I had qualifications I did not, and didn't hide their disappointment when they found out. At the end of the call they bluntly told me to keep looking for other internships.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Environmental Protection Agency (Washington, DC) in Apr 2020
Interview
One month after I applied, the director of the division I was applying to called to schedule a phone interview with herself and two supervisors (I am assuming that this may have been conducted in-person if it did not happen during the COVID-19 lockdown). The interview was fairly standard and cordial.
