I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Epic (Verona, WI)
Interview
Initial interview was a simple phone call that asked about my interest. Allowed me to ask questions and gave me an overview of Epic. They then flew me out to Madison where I stayed for two nights. The first day I went to dinner with a number of prospective interns and a current employee. Then the following day was a relatively long day of interviews and talks about what epic was about. Epic covers all food costs, hotels, and plane costs for the trip.
Then there were 2 tests, one about math, one about basic programming. For developers, we had a third test on writing programs.
The rest of the interview process was a small talk with a developer about a project we had worked on previously.
Overall, it was a pretty low stress interview process.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Epic in Mar 2012
Interview
They will give a test through Pearson testing centers before talking seriously. They also have a minimum GPA requirement.
