Applied online, received email to schedule for a quick call with recruiter. A week later, scheduled and met one of the guy from FIS for technical interview.
Honestly, the interview was disappointed. The position interviewed was for senior level position and they asked me questions such as what's the different between "==" and "===", or what is the difference between Inheritance and Composition. None of the questions were about my experience. Come on, these are the questions you asked beginner. I worked for years and they asked me if I have ever use inheritance in programming. I feel disrespectful by just answering that questions. If you're going to interview someone with experience, please spare them the basic java questions. The interviewer basically read through a list of questions that I guess they used to ask everyone. At the end of interview, I asked them about the architecture of the application, some technical questions, and etc, the interviewer couldn't even answering it correctly or confidently. They build angular project, copy the js files into java project, then deploy the whole thing. Who still do it that way nowadays? that tell you a lot about the knowledge of the interviewer and his team.
That's not even the best part, a day or two later, I got rejection email from recruiter saying that the Hiring Manager(different name than the interviewer) enjoyed speaking with me and etc. for the position that I didn't applied or interviewed for. I mean, for a decent size company, this is not good. The interviewer obviously isn't qualified for the position he was in since he seems intimidated when I ask him those technical questions. Company need to let their interviewers know that interview goes both way. You ask me questions, and I'll ask you questions back. So don't ask me about things that you do not personally know yourself.
