I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at FedEx Freight (Aurora, IL) in May 2014
Interview
Applications for FedEx Freight must be submitted through their website--you won't find listings online through Monster or Career Builder, etc. You have to submit a new application for every unique posting, even if it's for an identical job title at the same terminal--they don't keep anything "on file" from one vacancy to the next.
If you meet the minimum requirements you will be called for more information and a preliminary background check to verify important info. If all is well you will likely get a 1-hour interview and modest testing of basic math, reading/writing skills. Following a positive interview there could be a more through background/criminal check to make sure your application was honest and above board. After that, depending on position, you may have to go through a training process, but in a CDL drivers' case you are considered an employee and are paid whatever hourly rate the position warrants.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Very standard questions--what are your strengths, what are your weaknesses, and more importantly they will ask your opinion on the importance (or unimportance) of diversity in the workplace. How do you handle conflict? What often bothers you most about coworkers, etc. Be ready for questions like that.
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at FedEx Freight (Romulus, MI) in Apr 2015
Interview
Very Structured. Scripted. Interviews at this company are very structured. You can elaborate or ask questions near the end but every interview position specific is very similar. Some people do not understand this process and throws some people off.
I have personally conducted dozens of interviews during my management career and sometime wish I had the ability to better know the candidate from a professional level. But it is understandable that this is necessary to avoid litigation.

Describe a situation where you had to quantify success of your managment abilities
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at FedEx Freight (Houston, TX) in Mar 2016
Interview
Was similar to talking to a robot. The interviewer was reading a transcipt, while chewing tabacco, and spitting in a trash can located about 6 feet from his desk. So you can really see the spitt coming out his mouth into the trash can. Try to concentrate with that. I dont think he was understanding his own questions. My guess, he didnt go to school for long. He was very unprofessional and inappropriate. My interview was at 10, they made me wait an hour before they call me in.
