I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at IKEA (Vaughan, ON)
Interview
I applied online through Ikea website. I got an email from then manager to invite me to their Career Fair that the store held once in a while at the Ikea cafeteria. All I need to do is come in with my resume. Everyone at the career fair submitted their resume and has a chance to talk to their interviewing manager for a while. I found it more relaxing to have an interview at their cafeteria, I get a little nervous sometimes when interviews are conducted in a small room. My hiring manager had a paper of the questions that he asked, which were pretty standard questions. I guess he liked our interview. At the end of it, he gave me an application form to fill out and send me to another station where the HR manager will interview me next. HR lady and I just had a nice chat and informed me they will contact me when they made the decisions. A few days later I was contacted and offered the position. A background check was needed for the finalization of the offer.

Question 1
Standard questions:
Why I wanted to work at Ikea, my previous experiences, what's my goal, strength & weakness
I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at IKEA (Conshohocken, PA) in Dec 2011
Interview
Three interviews before the job offer -- first on the phone and then two in-person interviews with different managers/hr. The entire interview process took about a month and a half, followed by nearly a month between offer and job start (ostensibly to allow for background checks and drug test results).
HR personnel were very friendly and welcoming, and prospective managers were involved so they could evaluate candidates on a personal level.
