Interview
Phone interview asking about experience. If they want to proceed with your application they'll schedule you for an on site second interview. The second interview are generally the same experience questions. If you pass the interview you then do the background check which takes a week. In a few days you'll get a call to go to ikea and submit an oral drug test and give you orientation dates.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at IKEA (Covina, CA) in Jul 2015
Interview
The hiring manager was sweet and down to earth. I think they really put a lot of effort into making sure they hire staff that are in tune with the company culture. Most of the questions are hypothetical scenarios on what you would do in a certain situation.

Question 1
"Describe a situation where you had to accomplish something that was not part of your job description."
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at IKEA (Carson, CA) in Mar 2015
Interview
Initially applied on March 10, 2015. I received a email response on March 23. This email was to set up a phone interview. I received the call for the phone interview on March 25. This interview was fairly easy. The questions the lady asked consisted of: Why applying for the position? Why did I want to work in furniture business? One time i excelled while working as a team? How I handled a difficult situation on the job? This interview went well and the lady told me she would refer me for a face to face interview with the hiring manager at the location i applied.
She set this interview up for March 28. The interview was scheduled for early morning around 3am, which was different for me. I assume that this was because this is during the hours of the shift that they were hiring for. I was asked to fill out and print a paper application and to bring contacts for 3 professional references. This interview ended up being with the shift lead. Again I thought that this interview went well. I was asked similar questions as the ones asked during the phone interview. Additionally, it was mostly describing the position and duties. In all the interview lasted about 20-25 minutes. I was told that someone would be in contact if I was to go further in the process. Unfortunately, I received a email a few days later informing me that I was not selected for the position.
