I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Infosys in Jun 2008
Interview
For the interview process, first there will be a written test which includes topics from basic mathematics and English that tests your grammatical skills. The most interesting part is the section that tests your problem solving skills. One can expect puzzling questions in this section and working on "puzzles to puzzle you" book may render helpful. If the candidate clears this round, as per our interview we were directed to a panel (HR round) where we had a personal talk / interview with an employee from the hiring team who tested our communication skills. (some times again problem solving skills). With this you are done with the interview process and will be waiting for the final list of selected candidates and luckily I am one of them.

Interview
Following the assessment test, got shortlisted for the interview phase. The session itself was very smooth; the interviewer created a supportive and comfortable environment right from the beginning. The conversation centered around my project, where I had the opportunity to detail its technical aspects, architectural choices, and the underlying motivation for building it.
Multiple rounds including face to face and aptitude depending on the role type and resume and project related questions were asked with focus on technical concepts including data structures and algorithms
The recruitment process started with an online assessment that included aptitude, reasoning, verbal ability, and programming questions. Candidates who cleared the assessment were invited for a technical and HR interview. The interview lasted around 30 minutes and focused on Java fundamentals, projects mentioned in the resume, OOP concepts, certifications, and basic HR questions. The interviewers were friendly and gave sufficient time to answer.
