I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Klarna
Interview
have been contacted by a recruiter. first call was pretty neat.
the take home task was quite interesting (yet not fully related to the role)
have received good feedback on the task and was invited for a video call with one of the directors.
it was an uncomfortable interview where i got mostly prompt answers to my questions (uninformative) and no detailed questions about my background or skills. interview took half of the scheduled time and ended promptly after salary expectation question.
i think from both sides it was not a fit to work together. however from my perspective, the other side could not handle this "unfit".
in the end i did not receive any feedback, despite reminder email, which i find unprofessional given the effort i put into the process.
putting Klarna aside as an employer (i see the incident rather personal), i won't be applying for a similar role there in near future.

Question 1
What is your notice period and salary expectations
Screening call with a recruiter who was plainly reading from a checklist of buzzwords they wanted to hear the candidate parrot back - e.g. TDD, back end, front end. I don't expect the screening recruiter to be an expert, but they should be able to conduct a screening call without it feeling like a robot is performing the interview. I was told on the call I would proceed to the next step - which consisted of a "logic" pattern matching test. Here comes the interesting part - you need to score at least 13/18 to proceed to the next stage.
Unfortunately I opted to leave the process at this stage. The negative company reviews here coupled with a recruitment team that thinks there is a correlation between a pattern matching test and exceptional people managers and technical leaders is not one that is worth spending your time on. I'm willing to bet serious money that they don't even have internal metrics that support the cut-off of 13 in terms of great hires versus weak hires. Total pseudo science and should have no place in recruitment in 2019.

Question 1
Just be prepared on the screening call to be able to repeat buzzwords.
I applied in-person. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Klarna (Stockholm, ) in Nov 2017
Interview
The interview process it self was quite lengthy, many interviews, but it was also very thorough and gave me an opportunity to meet many different people across the organisation. That process helped me make a decision and to accept the offer I received. The whole interview process was very professional and it was divided into phone, online (video), and on site interviews. For the engineering position an IQ test (pattern recognition) and coding tests were conducted, all which should be easy to pass for an average engineer.
I do have mixed feelings about conducting IQ tests during an interview process, I don't personally mind them. But there are studies done, suggesting that there is no direct correlation between intelligence , analytical and logical think process. Klarna might actually miss out on good candidates by using IQ tests.
I'm also impressed by Klarna's recruiter, if all of them are as talented as the person I interacted with that would be awesome.

Question 1
I can't actually think of an unexpected or difficult question asked. The toughest one for me was probably "What would be required of us for you to accept our offer?"
