      Accountant Interview

      Aug 19, 2014

      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Koch

      Interview

Much longer interview than most. Round-robin style with 45 min one-on-one with about 4 people. It was not clear who in the group of people was the hiring manager. Following the 4 interviews, all those involved in the interview process review thoughts/impressions of the canidate. Key items they are looking for are: integrity, group-fit, teachability, ingenuity, openness to `finding a better way' to do things (innovation). Its a good idea to read Mr. Koch `Science of Sucess` before the interview so you are aware of the company culture, they really believe and live by the principles. But dont bring the book to the inverview or quote too much from it (that would be considered creepy or obssessive). Dress well, firm hand shake, prepare enough questions to be able to ask at least one in each of the 4 sessions you will be in, and at least one for HR.

      Question 1

Do you know what xxxx acronym stands for? I didn`t know very much about the technical part of the company so I had to find a way of saying `no` gracefully. I still got the job and never used the information they had asked me about in my job. I think they just wanted to see how I would react under pressure and if I was willing to say 'I don`t know' in an interview. Most people will lie and end up looking stupid....they see right through that.

      Interview

The office is very professional. The interviewers were kind, respectful and welcoming. It was one of those interviews where you can sense they are looking for something specific but you have no idea what it might be. (Mine turned out to be "reporting.")

      Interview

It was a four hour long interview. There were four managers interviewing me. They were very professional, but the questions that they asked were quite repeating. The total process were too long, in my opinion.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Koch

      Interview

The interview consisted of two 45 minute interviews, with two people each, the title of each of these individuals was given to me in a previous email. In my opinion, they seemed to really focus on your ability to get along with people, or at least this was the case in my interview. One thing I would mention is don't be afraid to ask the receptionist what is taking so long if the time for your interview has gone by. The email that was sent to my interviewers never made it to them, so their first impression of me was that I was 15 minutes late, when I was actually 20 minutes early. This was confirmed by the receptionist and made aware to them, but its still not a good way to start an interview. Be prepared.
