I was sent an email confirmation of the interview just 1 day prior to the interview date itself. They require you to complete a 5-6 page presentation about your career highlights, consultancy experience to date, why you want to work there, and interesting facts. They ask that you send it to them via email. I sent it across via email, but the interviewers expected me to have physical print outs, but this was not communicated to me.
There was no real structure to the interview either, it wasn’t competency based, and it felt as though they didn’t really know what they were looking for and didn’t know what questions to ask. That sort of left me in an awkward place where I could take the lead and go off on types of tangents. Very strange, but surprisingly not too awkward.
I can only suggest that the decision making process boiled down to fitting a certain look, rather than being based on actually capabilities. I suspect that the staff were quite junior in terms of industry experience. I had more technical experience than one of the individuals that interviewed me.
Unfortunately, they didn’t provide any meaningful feedback after the effort they require you to put in. Just a generic response saying they were “very impressed” but, no thanks, and that they may reach out in the future should other opportunities arise. To which I’ll say... no thanks! Haha
