I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Meta (New York, NY) in Jul 2025
Interview
The interview wasn’t easy, but it also wasn’t impossible. I didn’t pass the technical round, but the question I was asked was from the Meta top 200 questions on LeetCode, so it was definitely fair game. If you prepare well with those types of problems, you should have a solid chance. Overall, the process seemed reasonable and aligned with the preparation materials that are commonly recommended.
Recruiter screen, Coding Round (2 tagged meds in 45 min), then onsite (2 coding rounds similar to first, 1 sys design, one behavioral).
Recruiter grilled me about experience and ownership of scalable systems.
Phone round was 2 tagged mediums (top 100)
Onsite coding rounds were also four top 100 tagged meds/hards
Sys design was design elastisearch
Behavioral was 6 or 7 rapid fire "describe a time" type questions
Initial process started with a recruiter screen, then a coding screen, followed by a virtual onsite. The virtual onsite consisted of two coding round, behavioral, and a system design/product architecture question.
