I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Moody's (New York, NY)
Interview
I was called in for a first round with a few associate/ AVP level team members, and then later as a final to meet the Director. Typical fan fare to be expected for a strategy interview -- There were a couple of a cases. At one point during one of the cases, he told me that my response wasn't the "caliber expected of an average person off the street, much less a seasoned McKinsey consultant." (I've been at McKinsey for 3 years and have never been treated to or spoken to in that way.) I was quite proud of myself for not walking out in a huff at that point. Got a call back after, and was brought back to see the same guy. I only went because I assumed it might be an offer/ apology. He told me that he decided to give me a second chance. I did one case to be polite and said I needed to go back to work. By the way, asked the guy what consulting firm he had worked for -- Booze (i.e. not event a strategy consulting firm).
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Moody's (New York, NY) in Nov 2012
Interview
Applied online and received an email to set up a phone interview about 2 weeks later. In the phone interview I was asked a few accounting questions and then told they would follow up with the hiring manager. A few days later they contacted me to schedule an interview. I interviewed with a manager and two employees. The questions were all relatively straight forward and just asked about my experiences and why I would make a good fit. A couple of days later I was asked to come in again and meet with another manager who asked similar questions. After another few days I was told by the initial HR contact that my interviews had gone very well and then a week later I received an offer.
I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Moody's in Nov 2011
Interview
First Interview was on campus. I had two interviews that lasted about a half hour each. The interviewers were very pleasant and sharp. I made it to the second round, so I had to go to their office in NYC where I was interviewed by 5 different managers. 1 of them was a senior vice president and the other 4 MD's. Again, very nice atmosphere and very nice work place in general.
