I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Morningstar (Amsterdam) in Oct 2024
Interview
Home assessment was 2 hours test with four different sections. Not the easiest for somebody who has not been in the sector for a while. Furthermore they made a mistake and interviewed me for the wrong (more junior) position. I heard nothing untill I reached out again. They told me they would contact me the Monday after but that day never came. After two weeks I got a standard email saying my application would not go further. Very disappointing, lots of time wasted on them. To make things worse, I decided to subscribe for their equity research service. Well I ended up learning they have serious interface problems on the webpages which makes the service unaccessible. Speechless I tried many times again but I only learnt others had the same problem. I unsubscribed from the service.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Morningstar (Chicago, IL) in Feb 2017
Interview
Initial screening process included a very brief teaser-sized 3-stock pitch along with a subsequent phone interview depending on how much the sector leader liked or disliked the candidates key points for each security. If the phone interview goes well, a full-blown stock pitch is the final stage, and the candidate is required to pitch the stock to the equity research investment committee. There are no brain teasers or anything like that. They want to learn and understand a candidates logic, rationale, writing skills, and approach towards equities and the equity market ultimately.

Question 1
Why am I not recommending the equity that I pitched as a buy currently if I am incredibly bullish on the fundamental business prospects of the company and the industry.
