I applied online. I interviewed at Penguin Random House (New York, NY)
Interview
This was pre-Covid, however, I feel like I need to state that the most difficult part of the interview was the fact that they alleged that it was just an HR interview and then immediately sent me uptown to their other location to interview with VPs. During Zoom interview this may not be an issue, but I would recommend preparing and doing strenuous research, even for the HR interview, in case of an ambush.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Penguin Random House (New York, NY) in Jun 2021
Interview
Met with a third-party recruiter and then met with a person from the marketing team. I was then given a written test that took a few hours. It was composed of photos that I were to write sample posts for, and different social media marketing campaign ideas.
