Interview
The hiring process at this company left a lot to be desired, especially in terms of basic candidate respect. The first round required completing a mock assignment with a four-day turnaround. The prompt was anonymized and didn’t necessarily reflect actual company data.
After submitting the assignment, I received no feedback,= or commentary whatsoever. The company simply moved on without offering even a brief note on how the work was evaluated or why I was not advancing. If an organization is going to require candidates to invest significant time and effort into a multi-day deliverable, the bare minimum should be to provide some degree of feedback on what can be improved in the deliverable.
Overall, the process came across as unstructured and very dismissive of candidates’ time. It does not reflect well on the company’s professionalism or values.

Interview
Interviewed over Zoom. Prior to the interview, I had to read a couple of manuscripts and write evaluations of them. They got back to me about their decision within a few days of the interview. I appreciated that they had me practice some of the essential duties of the position and that they did not ghost me.
