I applied online. I interviewed at Penguin Random House in Nov 2020
Interview
About a month after submitting a resume and cover letter online, I received a call from a recruiter to set up a screening. After that went well, I had a video interview a week later with the two editors I would work with. After a few days, I was given an assignment to complete and return in a timely manner. I followed up after not hearing back for a week and was told they needed more time. A few days after that, I was informed in a polite and personal email that I was not chosen. Overall a very good process, it just took a little longer because they interviewed mannnnyyy people.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What do you read?
How was it working at ___previous job____? What did you do there?
How do you stay organized?
Video interview - quick and easy to do though a little intimidating. The questions were all ones you would expect, situational etc. They don't give you enough time to think about the questions I didn't think but I suppose they want you to think on your feet.
