Honestly, this was by far the longest and the worst interview ever. Started the interview in late October, and it ended in the end of January. I applied for the position online, and got a call back from HR, James, less than three days after. I chatted with him and the week after, I talked to the team. The week after, the HR asked for another interview with the other team, and I asked him for the run-down for the process, so I can work with the other offers. However, he gave me very vague answer, and after the second round, I was asked to do an assignment which wasn't mentioned in the beginning of the interview. However, I really liked the team and what they are building, so I decided to work on it when my EOY reports were piling at my job. I literally spent all nights working on it for whole week. During the project, I was called in again for third in-person interview. I submitted the project about a week before Christmas, which I knew it would take awhile to hear back because of the holidays. A week after New Years, I emailed James for updates, but I didn't hear anything from him. So the week after I emailed again; he followed up with me saying he will get back to me with the updates soon. I don't hear from him for another two weeks. At this point, I had a clue I didn't get the job, but just to get the closure, I emailed him again. The day after, he emails me asking for a chat in the morning after. I gave him my schedule, and I waited the whole day for his call. He doesn't get back to me, which is very unprofessional (because what he's been very professional *sarcasm*). A couple days pass by, I get emailed the hiring manager just to get the feedback for the project submission. I worked very hard on it, so the lease I deserve is a feedback, and of course, I let her know I didn't hear anything back from James. She emailed me back saying, she will follow up with James. A couple hours later, I get an email from James to schedule a call for update, and hours later without any email, he calls me saying the team decided to move forward with another candidate.
THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL INTERVIEW I'VE EVER HAD. I've had long interviews before, and HRs have been always on top of it to keep me updated. However, this company obviously lack communication AND transparency that I don't hear ANYTHING for weeks and weeks. They clearly don't respect me as a candidate.
