This was one of the most disappointing interviews I’ve experienced. The interviewer joined the call nearly 10 minutes late without any introductions, immediately asking me to dive into my portfolio. I presented my work in detail, pausing every few minutes to allow for questions or discussion, only to be repeatedly asked, “Do you have more to show?” with little to no engagement in what I had already shared.
After this cycle repeated three times, it became increasingly frustrating. When questions were finally asked, they felt unprepared and vague, making it clear that the interviewer lacked familiarity with my work and, unfortunately, genuine interest. The conversation felt awkward and disengaged, leaving a poor impression of both the interviewer and the company’s hiring process.
My advice would be to better prepare interviewers on how to conduct meaningful, structured discussions with candidates. Given the disorganised and discouraging experience, I couldn’t see myself working alongside this individual and chose to withdraw my application immediately.
