I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Revolut (Londen, Engeland) in Aug 2023
Interview
During the interview process, I encountered several red flags that made me question the company culture and the role expectations:
1. The number of interviews implied a lack of trust within the department, as I had to meet with the numerous individuals. The final interview stage was described as “extra” as the person wanted to be involved in the hiring process, which suggested excessive micromanagement.
2. Revolut has a notorious reputation as a toxic workplace, where KPIs are prioritized over employees’ well-being. In an attempt to address this, the CultureLab was launched in Feb’23. However, when I inquired about it, employees openly confessed that nothing had improved and that it was still a “target-driven environment where you have to be fast on your feet”.
3. Everyone I spoke to seemed overworked, stressed, and generally unwelcoming, as if the interview process itself was a burden or a chore for them.
4. A main part of the interview was a “whiteboard process” where they expected PMs to solve a hypothetical problem using the MECE framework. In reality, they were not interested in seeing the framework applied but wanted a specific answer to the question posed. The problem was so vague and unstructured (every criterion that I presented them with was dismissed as “equal”) that it was impossible to pass this stage unless you already worked at Revolut. Alternatively, they were looking for pure theorists rather than experienced Product Managers
Recruiter call followed by a series of product aptitude tests. These seemed to be quite similar in format, but the second is with a more senior member of the product team, and goes into more detail.

Interview
There was a prep call, prior to the interview, which was good.
The actual interview itself was really one-dimensional, they want who they want, rather than trying to understand who the candidate is and what their strengths might be. I wouldn't work there.
