I would like to share my recent experience regarding a recruitment process that was extremely disappointing.
I applied for a Product Manager position and received an interview invitation via email and WhatsApp from the Talent Acquisition team. I selected my preferred interview date and time through the scheduling platform, and received a confirmation of the phone interview appointment.
On the scheduled interview day, I waited for more than 30 minutes but did not receive any call, missed call, or notification regarding any change. I also verified that my mobile line was working properly to rule out any technical issues.
I reached out to the recruiter via email to clarify if there was any miscommunication. The response I received was simply “Will connect tomorrow”, without any explanation or apology.
The following day, I followed up again to confirm the interview timing, but received no further response.
I fully understand that unexpected situations may happen. However, a basic level of communication and respect for candidates’ time should always be maintained, especially by a Talent Acquisition team representing the company’s values and culture.
I hope the organisation reviews its recruitment process and candidate experience practices. A professional hiring journey reflects the professionalism of the company itself.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Rockwell Automation (Milwaukee, WI) in Aug 2022
Interview
Had three rounds of interviews: HR, the hiring manager virtually and then an in person panel. For the panel I had to prepare a PowerPoint that detailed my experience as it pertains to the job role. Overall it seemed a waste of my time just to find out after following up that the hiring manager decided not to go with any candidate
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Rockwell Automation (Milwaukee, WI) in Mar 2024
Interview
The interview process consisted of an initial HR screening followed by two technical interviews and a final panel discussion. Questions focused on project delivery methodology, managing engineering teams, and handling scope changes with major industrial clients. Each interviewer assessed both technical knowledge and leadership approach. The overall process was structured and professional, with clear communication throughout.

They asked how I handle project delays when caused by vendor issues or internal resource constraints.
