I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Saint-Gobain in Apr 2016
Interview
Phone call from hiring manager - initial phone screen to check for fit; I answered to the best of my ability citing past accomplishments when it came to research and IP segmentation, however, I felt like the interviewer had decided beforehand to not give anyone without a related background a chance.

Question 1
In the middle of a general discussion of experience and education,(having known that I don't have a chemical/materials) I was asked how I would cope with the job requirements.
Also, having asked about my 3 to 5 year plan, tried to play down my ambitious goals saying in an R&D organization, I wouldn't fit in. Wonderful learning experience.
I had appeared for interview at campus conducted by icai in pune. Firstly there was shortlisting as per qualification. Then there was a gd round where we were given a very current topic. It was followed by 2 PI rounds. 1st was technical, 2nd was HR. technical was easy and simple. Hr was a bit a tricky.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Saint-Gobain in Mar 2016
Interview
a recruitment agent called me and asked whether I'm looking for a position, and so I confirmed. Arranged the interview for the next 2 days (so quick), which sounded promising. (the job description was a perfect fit according to my experience and expertise)
I did not get the offer eventually, and once I asked the agent to provide me the basis of the decision, guess what?
The agent was told that I looked too professional for the position and how they consider me to be over qualified. (that's a nice offense)
