I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at SentinelOne in Sep 2025
Interview
I had a referral from someone at the company and I was contacted by an internal recruiter who did a video call phone screen interview which went well. Afterwards they scheduled me for an interview with the hiring manager.
An hour before my scheduled interview they cancelled and told me it was an emergency. They asked me if I could reschedule for tomorrow and I responded yes, but go no response back. I followed up several times and was told the recruiter who I was working with no longer worked with the company, but they would reschedule me again for next week. However, when I followed up again to reschedule for the next week I got no response back.
All around this was an extremely unprofessional experience and reflects very poorly on the company.

Interview
Very first interview was live leetcode-like problem solving excercise. The problem is that idea behind the solution is quite unique and difficult to approach, Even despite I have solved several hundreds leetcode-like problems. Like "you have to know how to solve this or should have seen it before by any chance (and you most likely have not)".
Optimizations are quite tricky too, especially the optimal solution. Quoting the interviewer "the optimal solution pattern is X, but you most likely have not seen this before". Indeed...
I am disapproving the interview because I don't see a value of such problem solving challenge and not sure how it helps estimate candidates. Since this was the first and only interview, my all skills related to the role and past experience are simply neglected by unrelated problem solving task.
