I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Slack in Sep 2022
Interview
First I had an intro call with the recruiter validating fit for role and planning next steps. Next, I interviewed with the hiring manager. This was followed by a “Chronological”, which is essentially a deep dive discussion into your entire career. Lastly, I had to prepare a final presentation covering a brief intro about myself, a review of a past deal I had been a part of, and a pitch on why a customer should use Slack. I was given feedback within 48 hours of final interview on my results.
Overall, communication throughout was consistent on next steps and what to expect at each step. One thing to be prepared for is that the interviewers will not give feedback during the interview. This is part of the interview strategy and is in no way an indicator of success or failure on your part. This was the first time I had encountered that methodology and it took me a bit by surprise.

Tell me about a time when you had to collaborate with another department on a deal.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Slack (Boston, MA) in Sep 2022
Interview
Interview process was poor overall. I applied through a friend referral, which had a quick turn-around time. When I talked with the recruiter, she asked me one small question (“what front end experience do you have?”) and after 5 minutes the conversation was over. I attempted to prod and ask some follow up questions, but there was no interest on her part. 30 minutes later, I get an email from her saying they weren’t going through with my application. Felt like I wasted 5 good minutes on nothing.
HR call with good introduction, then 45 mins HM call. Then a take home project, which is a kindergarten level python code base, and your job is to leave comments. I left comments basically on every single line. but still failed. No valuable feedback, totally waste of time
