tcs was the first company to come to our college for placement purposes.around 400 students participated in the placement process.First was an aptitude test(for below 75 percenters.the top guys were ushered directly to direct interview).the test was exactly similar to the tcs aptitude questions that flew around internet at that time.next was the direct interview(which was mix of technical and hr for me,bt heard that some had two or more interviews separate,i think it depends on your performance) which consisted of a panel of 2 persons.Next was a group discussion stage, but there you just have to say your ideas when turn comes instead of killing people for getting your words heard as in normal group discussion boards.Then came the most tensing part of the whole phase-The result declaration, which will be sweet if you are in it.. I was fated to be in the final list of people selected from our college.My advice to you guys is to learn to communicate well,be pleasant in conversations, be genuine while conversing and prepare well about your favorite topic instead of going for every last topic in every last text that you can get your hands at . .Good luckk....

i will briefly tell you about the whole interview instead of separately putting up questions and answers. I had 90 percent at 10 th, 85 at 12 th and my percent dropped to 66 at b tech. So they asked me about the fluctuation. So if you have these sudden changes in the grades, better be prepared for it. Then they asked me about the type of aptitude problems that i like to work with, and they asked me some aptitude questions in response to my answer, and told to answer without pen and paper.Then one of the interviewers started asking me questions connecting to my trade(eee). This guy was a good 6 feet tall, really built and looked like suresh gopi with bulgan portraying a villain role,. I would hence like to add that we should not be distracted by the intimidating personalities at the other side of the desk and stick to our cards. I tried to answer all the questions and managed to fall on all four at almost all times.Then the other interviewer asked me about some programming language stuff, but nothing really deep. The interview came to a close with interviews telling me their opinion.In this case, they said i had good communication skill and in a whole they liked me....:).

Easy process focusing on Projects in detail , Coding , Sql queries , OOPs and some managerial questions followed by HR interview. They mostly focus on your confidence and calmness rather than only knowledge. It's better to have good communication and quick thinking in the interview.
