The process took 1 day. I interviewed at The Home Depot (Atlanta, GA) in Oct 2008
Interview
I interviewed at the corporate headquarters. It took over a month to get the interview scheduled, but not due to me. I had to arrange my own transportation to the office and pay for it being told I would be reimbursed later. The first person talked with me for 15-20 minutes and then had to leave to participate in a company function elsewhere in the building, which he already had to know. He passed me off to another person who basically had nothing to ask me but offered to answer any questions I had. She could only speak to her specific job not the one for which I was interviewing for. After lunch I met with the VP of Medical Services and another top manager in Medical Services. Questions were not insightful and they were unclear of exactly what they were looking for in the position while questioning me as to whether or not I could do the job. For high level leadership whom I'm sure are good at their job, I was disappointed in my perception of their preparedness for the interview especially considering the level of management of the position and the fact I took a day of vacation and flew from another state to be there.

The process took 5 days. I interviewed at The Home Depot (New York, NY) in Sep 2010
Interview
received a phone interview from atlanta at like seven pm at night. they basically just described the job and the pay and asked me two structured questions which were
1. Describe a time you went above and beyond to get the job done.
2. Describe a time where you had to be enthusiastic in a hard situation.
Then the next day I got a call from a supervisor setting up a one on one interview which consisted of 15 to 20 min structured interview in a the training room where she read off a lil booklet she wrote in the answers. A couple days later I had an interview with the store manager which was basically the same thing I went through with the front end manager except slightly more intimidating. Later that night I got a call from the front end manager telling me i was hired.
