I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at TransPerfect (Morrisville, NC) in Oct 2021
Interview
The recruiter reached out to me via LinkedIn. I had a quick phone call with her to learn more about the position, as well as for her to ask me some questions. She then set me up for a 30-min video call with someone in the Raleigh office. After this interview went well, I was then set up for another interview with someone else in the Raleigh location. I was asked to complete the Caliper Assessment before this phone interview (which I did). This conversation was also pleasant. My final task in the interview process was to meet with the regional manager in person. I was told this would be a super quick interview that should last no more than 15 min as it was just an opportunity for me to see the office and meet with someone in person for the first time. I was given the address and told the interview was at 4pm. I arrived around 3:45 to make sure I could find the office on time. The door was locked and it looked dark inside. A janitor walked by and I asked if he could let me in for an interview. He seemed confused and informed me they weren't in office on Fridays. He opened and made sure no one was inside and then apologized and left. I called the recruiter around 4:00 to make sure I was in the right place at the right time. She apologized and said she would call the regional manager and then call me back. Upon calling me back, she apologized and said an emergency came up but the regional manager was on her way and would be there in about 25 min if I could wait. She knew I drove over 2 hours for this interview so she said she understood if I couldn't wait that long, and that she would TRY to get them to accept a video interview. She sounded unsure so I figured I would stay. Around 4:40 I decided to give up and called the recruiter to inform her. She continued to apologize saying I was one of their top candidates, and also informed me she had just received an email that the regional manager was pulling up. I walked into the interview where the regional manager was in leggings, tshirt, sneakers (work from home made sense for this). But then she asked for my resume, which it soon became clear that she had not looked over it. She asked me questions that she would already know the answers to- had she looked over the notes from the previous interviews. She also apologized for being late because she "did not realize the interview was in person." At the end, she said she enjoyed speaking to me and that I just needed to take the Caliper Assessment and the recruiter would reach out to me for final steps. At this point I did not even bother informing her that I took the assessment prior to that, as I felt like my time had been truly wasted. After this, I received absolutely no contact from anyone in the company. I found this weird since the recruiter had been really good about getting back to me and setting up times for each interview. I even reached out a week later and never heard back. So while the beginning of the experience was pleasant and quick, the end really ruined it all.
