I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at UPS (Baldwin Park, CA) in Oct 2010
Interview
the interview process consisted of 20-25 canidates in one sitting. they hire 4 at a time each individual is of different race. asked questions about safety ..proper lifting mechanics. To be honest it was pretty easy.
I applied online and an interview was automatically scheduled. At the "interview" they just tell you basic job requirements and make you go somewhere to get drug tested. The place that you go to sends them the results and then they call you up and tell you where to start orientation at.

There wasn't anything difficult or unexpected really.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at UPS in Feb 2012
Interview
I was a driver helper and was given a good review during peak season. 3 months later HR called and I went in for a short tour and 5 hours of paid training.
There was no drug test. NO real interview. Was asked about five basic questions like will I have trouble lifting 70 lbs and will I be able to make the 5pm to 10pm requirement for shift. I was told they do a background check, but have no way to know if they actual did one.
They made a big deal about wearing non slip shoes and 8 keys to lifting and 5 keys to avoid slips and falls.
