I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at UPS (Salisbury, MD) in May 2016
Interview
Great communication; emailed me ahead of time re directions to location and what to expect, dead on. Then emailed a reminder the day before.
Went to the site, no signs except for main entrance so I went there. Door was locked, apparently vacant. So I walked around the building. Obviously the business was open. A worker was helping load a truck. I asked where interviews were being held and she told me to look for a safety cone by a door around the building I hadn't been to.
Be aware; everything is a test. How you respond is the answer to the test.
Maybe 15 people showed up in this warehouse. We were instructed to sit at a table, then on the side of a cement ramp, while the speaker introduced himself and gave a rundown of job requirements.
We were to listen to his presentation, then if still interested, call the HR person. Had to mention 'safety first' at some point, a test to see if we read the email.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
More of a summary of what the job entails than a question answer period. The speaker told us the position was physically stressful and demanding, a work-out. Promptness was stressed. One minute late and will be asked to reschedule. Ten minutes early, asked to leave.
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at UPS (Greensboro, NC) in Nov 2014
Interview
Brought in during peak season hiring. We were given a sheet of paper and filled out a small application. Each person was taken into a separate space one by one and one. I was asked about my experiences similar to the job and where my interest stemmed from.
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at UPS (Norwood, MA) in Jun 2016
Interview
After applying online, I was offered an interview/tour two business days later. When I arrived I got a tour of the facility with quick explanations about the different stations I'd be working in and what I'd do. Then I was briefly introduced to the manager, who after a minute or two of small-talk signaled the HR rep to move forward with the hiring process for me. We went back to her office and answered some basic biographical info for a background check, and was offered the job pending receiving a clear BG check. Very simple process.
