I applied through other source. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Uber (San Francisco, CA) in Aug 2016
Interview
Did well on the Code on the Road test. Then, 45 min tech interview which went well enough for onsite.
First interviewer asked some background questions, and asked a pretty basic system design question.
Second interviewer asked about best/worst projects. I can honestly say this was one of the best interviews I have ever had.
Immediately after second interviewer, someone came in and told me I wasn't accepted. Extremely embarrassing, and a little infuriating. I think the first interviewer was turned off by my inexperience working in full-stack development (I hadn't worked with databases extensively). I don't think they could have possibly taken into account the second interviewer's opinion, because it was seconds after he left.
One interviewer's opinion is not enough to reject a candidate. To have come all the way and to be turned away not even halfway through the interviews is very disappointing. I was going to use Uber's offer to increase my offer from Google, so it's not too upsetting, but it would have been nice to have that.

How would you design Amazon's search
Talk about worst/best projects
Very smooth, interviewers were friendly, on-site and all interviews in the same day. Managed to grab lunch and talk about the company culture. Good guidance throughout the process. Two coding, two system design, one bar raiser, one hiring manager.

The interview process begins with an initial BFS screening to evaluate overall fit and relevant experience, followed by three virtual onsite interviews that focus on coding ability, an in-depth discussion of technical background and past projects, as well as behavioral and collaboration-related questions to assess communication and teamwork skills.
