I applied online. I interviewed at Walmart (Palatka, FL) in Mar 2026
Interview
Interview went great and was told I had the job. Told I would get paperwork. Took me a week to get anyone to answer the phone. Was told someone would contact me and still have not. Times are hard and I really need this job and was so excited about it
Phone only interview, and did not want to meet in person after discussion with pay scale and salary expectations. Only asked about availability and working over time. Did not want a rotating schedule.
The interview process for a Java Full Stack Developer at Walmart Global Tech in California typically begins with a recruiter screen followed by a technical assessment or phone screen focused on LeetCode-style data structures and core Java fundamentals. The subsequent virtual "onsite" consists of four specialized rounds: a back-end session deep-diving into Spring Boot, microservices, and multithreading; a front-end session evaluating your proficiency in React, hooks, and state management; a system design round where you must demonstrate your ability to architect scalable, high-traffic e-commerce solutions using tools like Kafka, Redis, and SQL/NoSQL databases; and a final hiring manager round focused on behavioral questions and Walmart’s core values. Given your specific background, you should be prepared to discuss your MERN MapReduce project and your use of the Visitor pattern in J2EE to show how you handle distributed data and design complexity at scale.
