- Some hyper-technical questions on their systems while the job was for a senior engineering manager / engineering director. I believe these were unusual questions for an executive job, but I understand that a deep technical knowledge on their systems was very important for them.
Every discussion was centered on a real business challenge the team is currently tackling. Anchored by that challenge, we explored product and engineering strategy, risk management, stakeholder alignment, team growth, and approaches to ongoing challenges. The process helped me see the problem from multiple perspectives and understand the shared goals driving their decisions.
