Pros

Great benefits, discount childcare, health, dental, eye. Fast paced environment, with lots going on. Control many of the current hit songs, in addition to tons of old greats. Lots of services, to make you think they really care....but they really don't.

Cons

They work with the smallest possible staff, which means everyone does 2-3 jobs for the price of 1. Salaries are as low as possible for the people doing the work. Managers are from Germany and don't understand how different the industry operates in USA. On top of which, MANY full time positions are actually given to interns (to save money, don't have to pay benefits). So many co-workers barely know what they are doing. Just doing what they are told without understanding how it fits into the big picture. Which then makes your job more difficult. Upper management says they want to hear your concerns, but when you are honest you get replaced. They just want you to march to the German parent company's orders and not ask questions.

Pros

The people are amazing! Benefits are also great, and it's a great place to work if you have no ambition of moving beyond a junior level position

Cons

The pay isn't great, and often times I found myself being the only woman in the room. I have countless memories of sexist executives being unprofessional whether it be subtle (calling me sweetie or hon) or blatant (a pig of an executive who threw a $20 bill at me and said he'd take minestrone soup for lunch - years after had moved out of an assistant role)

Pros

The very small, few and rare cool employees that work there.

Cons

The turnover at BMG happens for a reason. The smart ones leave and the incompetent ones stay. Dealing with employees that have very limited work experience makes everyones job a lot more difficult. Especially when it's encouraged to foster seniority over experience. BMG is known to never reply to phone calls and emails. It's always because no one is experienced enough to respond.
