Pros

1. Some genuinely lovely and competent colleagues. 2. The work/life balance is really good. 3. Nice office in a lovely part of Amsterdam.

Cons

1. The management team don’t believe in strategy. 2. Diversity is a nonexistent. If you’re not a white male, good luck - you’ll need it. 3. The founder’s behaviour is not just unprofessional, it’s unacceptable. He’s assaulted employees and swears on slack channels. Having just laid off nearly 10% of the workforce a role has been created for him. He doesn’t seem interested in making the company profitable, only handing out jobs to his friends. This quote sums up his approach: “I'm actually really happy with the crisis, because people now listen better to me”. More nuggets can be found in the sifted article: 'Brunch with Adriaan Mol'.

Pros

Working as a People Operations working student at Mollie can be a really positive experience if you enjoy being close to people, processes, and the day to day rhythm of a growing company. What stands out most is the chance to learn a lot in a short time. You get exposure to real People Operations work, which helps you understand how HR processes, employee experience, and internal support all come together. It is a role where you can build practical skills that are useful far beyond the job itself. Another big plus is the environment. Mollie tends to feel fast paced, modern, and collaborative, so you are not just doing repetitive tasks. You are often trusted with meaningful work and get to see how your contribution supports the wider team. That can make the role feel rewarding and motivating.
