CEO is out of touch and surrounded by "yes-man/women" who are also out of touch with employee engagement and morale. They lead from a "tower"; the company preaches about customer obsession but internally they care little about the customer. When they lay off people there is no client handover, leadership simply doesn't care! Teams on the ground care and do the best they can to cover up the internal rotting environment. Leadership is more obsessed about processes, about how many times the press is quoting Forrester and about how they compare to Gartner; They also care about keeping their own power and circle of equally bad leaders.
Research leadership both global and international - across EMEA and APAC - are also arrogant, disconnected and operate from a place of "safety" as they are placed to keep the status quo going; they are saying that they value different opinions but only if these opinions don't challenge them. Managers are back-stabbing employees in order to protect themselves.
Employee morale is low; salaries are not competitive; customer engagement is increasingly more transactional. They have bought a highly respected organisation and within a record time they have destroyed all the value. Any innovation feels high level and abstract . They have lost so many people and as a result the deep strategic and operational / implementation expertise is gone in B2B.
